The ADCA Industry Advisory Council represents the range of industry sectors expected to be significantly impacted by blockchain technology.
The ADCA Industry Advisory Council is composed of representatives of the ADCA membership and represents the range of industry and social sectors expected to be significantly impacted by blockchain technology.
The Industry Advisory Council has been established to:
- ● assist ADCA to fully understand stakeholder perspectives;
- ● facilitate collaboration amongst industry and technical stakeholders;
- ● provide guidance to ADCA on its advocacy priorities when dealing with Government.
Members of the Industry Advisory Council are selected for their deep experience in at least one of the industry sectors expected to be significantly impacted by blockchain technology and/or strong understanding of the economic, commercial, regulatory and social implications of blockchain technology.
The ADCA Industry Advisory Council provides guidance and support to the various ADCA working groups.
ANZ Blockchain Practice Leader, IBM
Michael Aaron has spent over 35 years in Financial Services for IBM, with a continuous focus on the application of new technologies. Michael has held a variety of positions in IBM, including the Financial Service Industry manager in Australia and the Banking Executive for IBM’s Growth Markets unit. In those roles, Michael led the development of IBM’s banking solutions business.

Robert is a Chartered Engineer having 30 years’ experience in Technology and Business consulting, 18 of which are within Financial Services, including roles with Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays Bank and Credit Suisse. Currently National Fintech Leader for PWC, Robert is the co-founder of Vulcan Digital Asset Services, creator of the PwC Trusted Cryptocurrency Ecosystem and Coordinator of PwC’s Global Digital Identity working group.

Malcolm is founder and Managing Director of Information Integrity Solutions Pty Ltd (IIS), a global consultancy specialising in data protection and privacy strategies. As Australia’s Privacy Commissioner from 1999 to 2004, Malcolm also led the implementation of the nation’s first broad-based private sector privacy law. He has been a member of advisory bodies around the world, including in the European Union, the USA, OECD and APEC as well as large global companies such as Microsoft and IBM. He is a member of the NSW Data Analytics Centre Advisory Board. Malcolm was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2016.

Jason Potts is Professor of Economics at RMIT University, Vice President of the International Joseph A. Schumpeter Society, and Editor of the Journal of Institutional Economics. He has published extensively in the field of economics of new technology, innovation policy, and the economics of institutions, including 5 books and over 70 journal articles broadly on the theory of economic dynamics.

Vaughn Richtor is the former CEO of ING DIRECT Australia and CEO Challenger and Growth Countries – Asia, ING Group. Vaughn joined ING in London in 1991 and was Deputy General Manager UK and Ireland, establishing the ING Dublin branch. Vaughn was then assigned to start banking operations in Australia in 1995, which ultimately became ING DIRECT, and he held this role until 2005. Vaughn has also held roles as CEO and MD of ING Vysya Bank and CEO – Banking Asia, and is currently a Board Member of TMB Bank Public Company Limited in Thailand and an advisor to ING Group. He continues to speak publicly on Corporate Culture and leadership and is the author of a book on leading and building a business – The Currency of People.
James is a technology partner in the Australian Financial Services section of Ernst & Young. He now leads EY’s Blochchain practice and is the Client Service Partner for Westpac. Previously, James was a Partner in the PW/PwC/IBM BCS consulting practice for over 10 years. During this time James worked on, or was the responsible Partner for over 20 major ERP and business transformation programs.
